The much anticipated BCHRA Annual Charity Auction was upon us. Tuesday, 02-DEC-03 was a night filled with freindship, good chat, fun, giving and of course our very own world famous BCHRA Donuts & coffee!. The results for the evening were FANTASTIC, how could they not be when we had so many people helping and donating such good stuff. There were a couple of things that I wish I was prepared for but couldn't squeeze the budget enough to go after them. Others in our group were very generous and not only bought items some times for more than their retail worth but also donated food staples for the Surrey Food Bank. Awesome you guys ! Job well done ! Thanks a lot ! ! After all the wheeling and dealing was done, it was time to pay up. Everyone stepped up and at the end of the night we raised a whopping $5,050.00 for the Valley Therapeutic Equestrian Association. Last years auction event provided a cash donation of approximately $3,300.00. We certainly topped that! The presentation of the cheque for the V.T.E.A. was scheduled to take place on Saturday, 20-DEC-03 at 10:00am. The presentation was well attended by BCHRA members. The presentation of the cheque was accepted with tears of joy from Agnes McCorquodale. All who were present came away with a very warm heart to see that the donation will be immediately put to good use for the support of this badly needed service. As you will see by the following pictures, the VTEA is a needed service for those kids in need of such a marvelous therapy. |
