On August 10th, 2012, the first Rolling Thunder Against Cancer will start in Vancouver. Up to 300 hot rods will begin an incredible journey that will raise dollars towards cancer research in British Columbia. The 4-day drive from Vancouver will go through Osoyoos, Kelowna and Kamloops, with stops along the way in small communities. Participants can join the run at Vancouver, Chilliwack, Osoyoos or Kelowna.
The BC Cancer Foundation has enthusiastically endorsed Rolling Thunder Against Cancer and hopes this event will become a model for similar events across the province, and become one of the major fundraising events on their annual calendar. Funds will be raised from two sources: pledges for miles driven made by drivers and their friends, and from the general public attending the en-route stops and nightly shows. Fully supported by the BC Hot Rod Association (BCHRA), our commitment is to donate 100% of the funds raised through pledges and on-site activities to the BC Cancer Foundation.
